Legally speaking…November 11, 2024
This may come as a surprise…but sometimes I question myself. I know. It’s crazy but it’s true. 😉
I can’t tell you how often I ask my Father to show me the parts of myself He wants to refine and the parts He’d like to grow. I ask that anything hindering my vision be cleared so I can more fully see the path He’s laid before me, and not accidentally take another. We’ve placed so much faith in our eyes and what we can see, we can quickly lose our orientation toward Heavenly things that seem mysterious and even unlikely without affirmation.
Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not yet seen (Hebrews 11:1). This often means trusting Him despite all evidence seeming to point to the contrary. In my insecurity I’m constantly asking Jesus for clarity of purpose and the ability to separate truth from lies, in myself and others.
Sometimes He just leaves us to trust until such time He reveals His purpose in our struggles. Sometimes He give the affirmation He knows we need in the present, to encourage us further down our path.
It always seems SO simple and timed SO perfectly. This morning I received a text that said, “You’re a powerful and good woman, Sarah…Romans 5:1-8. You’re going to level up on character, perseverance, and hope. And you can count on His hope!”
Guys. Two things:
My most-recent post centered on this scripture and as I so often reference…it came back to me. His words never return to Him void (Isaiah 55:11)…and His words don’t return to US void either.
If that isn’t enough: another dear friend asks me every January if God gave me “a word” for the year, as He gives her, and suggested I once again ask Him for mine. The answer I received was surprisingly immediate: Powerful. I wasn’t sure I heard Him right but….read that text again…
So, earlier this week I attempted to encourage us to press on in faith toward (and as) the light of Christ…and in doing so He once again brought it back to me through His word, the words He’s gifted to me, and Godly, spirit-filled friends. He is building my character, and I am powerful.
So are you. Ask Him to show you…bet He does, just make sure you’re looking through the right lens so you don’t miss it. ;). And if you do, that’s okay…keep asking. <3
