Giving Him a chance

I saw a video last night of a woman encouraging viewers to “sit at the table” prepared for me by The Lord.  It made me think of a few things in regard to tables.  As I ponder, I realize it comes up more than we might recognize.

Louie Giglio recently wrote an excellent book, “Don’t give the enemy a seat at YOUR table”, noting the devil’s efforts to distract us from our God-given seat.  He’s right.  Our Word says, “Taste and see that The Lord is good,” and the devil can’t have us in-seat AND continue wreaking havoc on our hearts.  One or the other, we cannot “dine” with two masters, and the evil one is constantly trying to cause distraction from our most-valuable dining companion.

Ted Dekker reviews in his meditation series, “The Forgotten Way” that God is in constant state of dining with us in His Kingdom.  We often hear attacking armies outside, jump up from the table, and look out the window in fear.  But HE didn’t jump up.  HE isn’t worried.  HE knows what we don’t, so let’s return to our seat and dine lavishly with our loving Father and King.

Bethel sings a song encouraging us to sit and wait on and with The Lord as well. “You don’t have to do a thing.  Simply BE with me.  Let those things go, they can wait another minute, wait. This moment is too sweet…”

The above was just birthed because He encouraged me to sit at my table, so at the moment, I am.  I heard Him and I listened.  Admittedly when I sat (less than five minutes ago) I was like, “Okay, Lord, but I’m not feeling what you want to talk about….yet.  Even so…let’s give it a shot.

I know there’s more to come.  This is just a NUGGET of the dinner invitation placed in front of us for all eternity.  The table set for us is always there , our seat has been reserved., and the feast is ABUNDANT….but the party doesn’t start until we get there.  😉

It’s time to party.
