We are light, because Jesus is light. We are made in His image and that of our Father.

“You are the light of the world.” -Matthew 5:14

Christ literally says so.

We are light and love because Jesus paid every price necessary to bring us back into the Holy Presence of our Father. His sacrifice gaurantees grace always abounds more (Romans 5:20).

We couldn’t be in His Presence any other way, as light has no fellowship with darkness (2 Cor 6:14). He IS light and literally cannot be in the presence of darkness…it simply flees; ceases to be.

Here’s the thing we forget to give Him credit for: it’s not as though Jesus covered all of our sins, presented us to our Father, and Dad said, “Oh, thank goodness, now I can stand being around you again!” No, what He says is, “Wonderful! You’re as clean as I am! I so love having you in My Presence; aware of your value! I’m so pleased. I love you.”

There’s no shame in that.

I’m crazy for my God, because of His crazy, shame-crushing grace. How can I not love him?

He loves you the same way. He doesn’t love us in spite of us…but because of Christ.
