Legally speaking…November 11, 2024
If you were able to catch yesterday’s post, you know God was very vocal in his natural response. I was so excited to have such a distinct, identifiable experience with The Lord I had to tell someone. I sometimes feel a little sheepish because so many of our Christ-centered experiences seem strange to the world, but even so the world needs to hear from God too, arguably most.
My farmer buddy stopped by and I burst. I gave him a play-by-play that ended with him saying, “we don’t want rain now for two weeks!”
Admittedly it’s a statement that took just a bit of wind out of my sails. ;). The good news about the Good News? It’s not my sail, and the way I think He could fill it and move the receiving vessel is rarely what I thought He’d do. Farmer friend and I continued to chat, he eventually left…and my prayers against the next anticipated storm began. It should have been a washout day. Then it should have rained by 2p. Then 6…then 9….
See radar just after 10p. Never got a drop.
Sometimes He’s in what doesn’t happen just as frequently as He places himself in what does. And yes, we have to take on faith that He’s keenly aware of our need, and how we pray for the needs of others’, perhaps the first step in aligning the desires of our heart with His and maturing in our faith.
He hears us. He responds to us, our need. And hopefully one day my farmer friend hears Him too.
For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. -Matt 5:45
